We will be launching the paperback edition of our Bark & Bone anthology with a face-to-face event next Saturday, 25th November between 2pm and 4:30pm. This very special book party will lure you into a forest whose dark twisty paths wind through various genres from fairytale and science fiction to weird fiction with coverts of mild horror. Pop by for shiny new books, birthday cake and readings from our lovely Space Cat stars.

About the Venue

For this event, we will be returning to the venue of last year’s Uncharted Constellations and Severed Souls launch: Leicester Friends / Quakers Meeting House (16 Queens Road, Leicester, LE2 1WP).

There’s a ramp and disabled access in the building. We will be in the Large Hall, an airy 9×6.25 metres room on the ground floor. There will be plenty of space so feel free to invite as many guests as you like.

We will have access to a small kitchen with an urn and will be providing cake, nibbles, tea, coffee and juice during the break.

Parking

There’s a small car park to the rear of the Meeting House but its capacity depends on how many other groups are using rooms at the House that day. Access is by the drive between the meeting house and the Drayton House flats. Please be respectful of other groups using the building and definitely don’t block anybody in at the car park.

If the Meeting House car park is full, other than on-street car parking, you can try car park at Victoria Park, which is about 10-15 minutes walk away. Parking charges there are as follows: Up to 1 hour: £1. Up to 2 hours: £2. Up to 3 hours: £3. Up to 4 hours: £4. Up to 12 hours: £9.

For those of you planning on coming by train or bus, the Meeting House is about one and a half miles south of the city centre and a mile from the railway station. The 44A and 44 bus routes to and from the central bus and railway stations pass the meeting house. The nearest bus stop is the second stop on Victoria Park Road, immediately before the traffic lights where the bus turns left into Queens Road.

Preorders

Preorders will open on Friday, 17th November and run until after the launch on Saturday, 25th November. Those copies will be priced at £10. Please note that any orders that go through the website will have an additional postage fee.
