The Red Princess Who Was Hidden Underground follows a Jewish family as they are pursued into the Black Forest by Nazi soldiers.

Here’s a snippet:

Eliana aches to walk free of their prison. To unlock the cellar door, pad up the stairs, out through the front door of the house, then to the snaking path that leads to the forest’s edge. She wants to feel the shelter of the forest’s cover, where soldiers fear to tread, where she and Mother can escape from the world of angry men and senseless orders.
