
Paul Rudman has been interested in Psychology since his first degree in the 1990s. He is an active member of the Speculators writing group in Leicester and has had 10 stories published since his first in 2016. His stories explore unusual psychological states. Paul is currently working on a novel-length thriller as a vehicle to discuss the role of the unconscious in our behaviour.

Mother is a disturbing sci-fi tale, where hallucinations will be the least of your concerns. Here’s a snippet:

He spun around. Nobody there.
‘Who is it?’
He stood up, looking intently around the ship’s deck. Ninety-nine time-freezers, forty-nine asleep, forty-nine purged. Nobody else. He looked again at the woman in the chamber as she waited for her life to end.
I must still be hallucinating. Maybe a bug in the virus code that woke me early. Everything’s fine. Everything’s fine.
