Anthology updates

We would like to draw your attention to the CLOSING of the submission window for our planned Aliens & Otherness anthology this Friday, 3rd September 2021.

This closing date is of course three months later than intended. In a sad echo of the times, our Space Cat publication schedule has been disrupted two years running, first by lockdown and now by a close family bereavement. One of our editors has been out of the country since April this year, dealing with this latest family crisis. Now that she’s returned, we hope to fire up the engines and get back into orbit.

We very much appreciate the patience of those authors who have submitted work for this anthology. If you have decided in the meantime to withdraw your piece so as to submit elsewhere, please do get in touch. Otherwise we will now give your work our full attention. We will contact all authors to let them know if they’ve made the shortlist before publishing it on this website.

Thank you again for engaging with our call out. We look forward to being surprised, touched, scared, entertained and bewildered in the best possible way by your take on our Aliens & Otherness theme.

— 31st August 2021

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we have had to put work on our Aliens & Otherness anthology on hold for the time being. The submission window will remain open past the original 31st May closing date for anyone who has yet to submit and we will update you all on the shortlist as soon as we can. Thank you for your patience and apologies for any inconvenience caused.
